Just for you, Mom!

I thought I had posted about our strawberry picking last June with Grandpa but couldn't find the post...but even if I did post them I think the pictures are well worth seeing again. Olivia was a good strawberry picker!
Although Joey didn't go with, he enjoyed the fruits of our labor.

Olivia thought is was fun riding on the wagon to and from the strawberry patch.
Yummy!
Olivia put more in her mouth than in the bucket!

A New Era

So starts the era of potting training....
He's a little young yet and not too excited about going in the potty but I figure it's never to early to start. I once heard, correctly, that kids mostly train themselves, that parents are merely there to guide them. I have a feeling we'll be doing a lot of guiding with this one!

Leapin' Lizards

The kids found these salamanders trapped in the window well of our hosue the other day. I convinced them to let them go in the woods after they played with them for awhile. Now Joey checks the window well every morning to see if there are any more salamanders that need rescuing.

The Best Thing Since Sliced Bread

For $5.00 you can get your pooch washed and blow dried at the pet wash in town. It is well worth every penny!Poor Charlie doesn't think so though. He was miserable. He shakes like a leaf and foams at the mouth cuz he's so nervous. You'd think he'd be more comfortable after multiple visits but he's always so scared. Olivia thinks it is hilarious to watch me wrestle the dog into the door and up the ramp of the pet wash. I guess I'm glad someone is having fun!

Family Camping Trip

I'm not sure whatever possessed us to take the kids tent camping at this stage (especially after last year) but despite forgetting a sleeping bag, racoons getting into some of our food in the night, being stressed out with trying to get the kids to bed before waking up the neighbors, being up with the kids until 11:30 p.m., the kids refusing to nap, and it being blazing HOT, we had a great time!

One night we were one of two families at the headwaters! Beautiful!

Playing with water, pots and pans, creates hours of fun!

All in all, it was well worth the lack of sleep and the hot weather as the kids had so much fun!

On the War Path?

Does Joseph look like he's on the war path? Olivia and Joseph painted tonight while I was on the phone. While they started out painting on paper, I wasn't too surprised that the paint ended up on Joseph. It's just what I've come to expect with this boy!

Raspberries Anyone?

We picked these wild raspberries close to home yesterday evening. They sure are yummy! (Don't know why the photo turned out so blurry though.) Joey didn't get any in the bucket though - they all ended up in his mouth! We were happy and surprised that the bears haven't eaten them as the neighbors saw a sow and her two cubs this past week just north of our house.
